Wicked Willie's is a Proud Sponsor of the 6th Annual Kilts & Kleats Softball Classic
Most of the time we're all about watching sports on the 31 TVs and 3 giant projection screens at our Lake of the Ozarks sports bar. In this case, however, Wicked Willie's Sports Grill is very proud to be sponsoring a local Osage Beach tournament put on by some great people in order to benefit some great causes.
There is a 2-Division Men's Tournament (recreational and competitive.) ASA or USSSA stamped bats must be used as well as your own ASA 52/300 balls. Umpires will be provided and refreshments will be available. There will be a trophy presentation party afterward. Kilts are not required, but if you feel like wearing one, go for it!
Sporty Fun For a Great Cause
Proceeds from this year's tournament will benefit two wonderful organizations - the Midwest Children's Burn Camp and Wonderland Camp.
Founded in 1997, the Midwest Children's Burn Camp is a camp for burn-injured children ages 6-19 where they can forget about their scars for a week. They offer a safe and supportive environment where young burn survivors can have some fun and form new friendships. Activities enjoyed include zip-lining, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, archery, crafts, and even a 110-foot waterslide into the lake. Campers learn a "can do" attitude and focus on the beautiful person they are on the inside to foster a positive self-image.
Wonderland Camp is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year! Their mission is to provide a fun, educational camp experience for children, teenagers, and adults with disabilities. Campers participate in various activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, arts & crafts, nature, music, games, and much more.
Not only do the campers get a memorable and enjoyable camp experience, but Wonderland Camp also offers a respite from daily caregiving for family members and healthcare workers. Over the years the camp has grown and is still growing. They are able to provide an outdoor camping experience for over 1,000 campers each summer.
Lake Area Firefighters, Local 3987
The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) was originally chartered on February 29, 1918. This local group was chartered into the IAFF on November 1, 1999.
Back then it was made up of only full-time Osage Beach Firefighters. They were joined by Lake Ozark Firefighters in 2001 and currently have members from both of those groups as well as Sunrise Beach Fire, Gravois Fire, Rolla City FD, Mid County Fire Districts and the Miller County Ambulance District. They all do very important jobs at work for their communities and in their free time they still give back through fun events like this softball tournament.
If you enjoy playing softball as much as you like watching sports, give Brandon Pharr a call at 636-299-8443 to get your team signed up for this incredible event. For those of you that don't consider yourself sporty enough to compete, join Wicked Willie's Sports Grill in supporting this incredible tournament by heading to the ballpark to cheer the teams on. Afterward, we can all go back to watching the games on TV at our Lake of the Ozarks sports bar & grill.
