It's time for another #WickedGood party at Wicked Willie's Sports Grill in Osage Beach. This year, we've decided to get all comfy and cozy for Christmas with a Onesie Party! You know, those one-piece pajamas meant for babies but all the rage for us grown-ups now. Slip into something comfortable and meet us at the best place to party at the Lake of the Ozarks!
Christmas Onesie Party
On Friday, December 20, 2019, beginning at 9:00 pm we'll expect to see everyone in their best adult onesie. You don't have to dress up to join the party but, why wouldn't you? They are warm, which makes them great for a December party. They are super comfortable. Best of all, after the party, you're already dressed to hop into bed!
As usual, the best bar at the Lake of the Ozarks will feature some irresistible drink and shot specials throughout the night. We'll also be giving away gift cards for the best female and male onesies, so get creative!
Who Decided Adults Should Wear Onesies?
The adult onesie became a popular clothing item in the 2000s. While intended to be used as loungewear or sleepwear (like the onesies commonly worn by infants) the adult onesie was considered acceptable and stylish streetwear for a few years in the late 2000s-early 2010s. (So you see, it's cool to wear a onesie in public!)
You will probably be very surprised to learn (because we certainly were) that what is worn as an adult onesie today was "kind of' invented by the one and only Winston Churchill! The British prime minister created what was known as a "siren suit" during World War II. It was easy to throw on quickly over clothing when air raids struck. He got the idea after seeing the "boiler suits" worn by bricklayers of the time.
They say Churchill even wore his version of the onesie regularly, including when he met important people like President Franklin D. Roosevelt, General Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin! (See, once again, proof that it's cool to wear your onesie in public!)
