The Perfect "Football Foods" for Watching the Games
This time of year, weekends are all about football, as well as every Monday and Thursday night. (At least, that's how it is at Wicked Willie's Sports Grill!) Everything on our menu is delicious, but there are certain foods that seem to go hand in hand with watching the games.
Our sports bar & grill at the Lake of the Ozarks offers quite a few "football foods" that are favorites across the board. Of course, we always put our very own #WickedGood twist on the recipes to make them even more irresistible! Here are some of the most popular foods people order during football season around here.
WINGS
A big plate of hot wings and an ice-cold beer seems to be a staple of most football fans' diets. We've got plenty of bottled and draft beers to choose from here at Wicked Willie's and 4 different kinds of fresh, jumbo wings to enjoy. Be sure to ask your server for bleu cheese or ranch and celery sticks to go with them.
BURGERS
A lot of tailgaters throw burgers on the grill and then get creative with all kinds of tasty toppings. There's no need to drag the grill out when we've already got these amazing burger creations ready for you!
POTATO SKINS
Potato skins are a very popular appetizer to eat while watching your team throw around the old pigskin. Here at our Lake of the Ozarks family restaurant, we do them a bit differently than people are used to.
Our Buffalo Chicken Potato Skins are stuffed with grilled chicken that has been tossed in Wicked Willie's Buffalo sauce plus cheddar jack cheese, bleu cheese, crisp bacon, and green onions all drizzled with a sriracha ranch.
NACHOS
Nachos at the stadium are usually just chips, cheese out of a pump, and maybe a few jalapenos on the side. We've got 3 amazing nacho plates that will make you never want to look at stadium nachos every again!
CHILI
Fall is just around the corner and a great big pot of chili on a chilly fall afternoon really hits the spot while you're watching the game. Our version of chili will have you wanting to lick the bowl after your last bite! Willie's Smoked Turkey Chili is filled with savory ingredients like smoked turkey, white beans, tomatillos, and green chiles. Each bowl (or cup) is garnished with cilantro and tortilla strips.
DIPS
Something that you can share with the rest of the table lets everyone munch throughout the quarters. Dips are the perfect food for this. Our Wicked Fundido is made up of a magical blend of velvety cheeses plus chorizo and just the perfect hint of spices. Don't break your tortilla chip scooping up too much in one bite!
Those delicious dishes should get you started, but there's a gigantic menu at our Lake of the Ozarks restaurant & bar full of all kinds of scrumptious foods to choose from. You're not limited to just "football foods" when you come in to watch the game at Wicked Willie's Sports Grill.
We're open 7 days a week (showing ALL the games, not just football) so you can join us for lunch, dinner, or our awesome weekday Happy Hours. Come in soon and find a few new favorite foods to enjoy along with your game!
